On Friday, Ananya Panday took to Instagram to share two stunning monochrome pictures of herself as Dilreet Gill.

Correspondent : what describes your character in the movie kesari 2? And how different did you portray from other roles ?
Ananya : In Kesari Chapter 2, I play a bold and confident female lawyer who takes a stand during a time when few women were given a voice .
Correspondent: how was the feeling working with Akshay sir
For the first time ?
Ananya : It was much fun(smiles). My character joins Akshay Kumar’s Sir C Sankaran Nair, who fights against the British Empire after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre .R Madhavan plays the opposing lawyer defending the British.
The film explores an intense courtroom battle, patriotism, and justice. It brings to light the silent struggles of Indians who fought the British rule.
The film is set to release on 18th April 2025 at your nearest theatre.

The trailer opens with shots being fired at Jallianwala Bagh on 13 April 1919. Akshay Kumar, portraying Sir CS Nair, questions General Dyer in court. R Madhavan is introduced as Neville McKinley, the counsel representing the Crown, while Ananya Panday plays Dilreet Gill, who supports Akshay Kumar’s character.
