A new study by Harvard University researchers delves into the idea of extraterrestrials living among us. The paper, titled "The Cryptoterrestrial Hypothesis," proposes that some unidentified aerial phenomena (UFOs) might be alien spaceships visiting Earth.
The researchers suggest four possible scenarios for hidden aliens. One theory is that these "human cryptoterrestrials" are remnants of an advanced human civilization wiped out by an ancient disaster. Another theory proposes that intelligent beings descended from either ancient ape-like creatures or even dinosaurs ("hominid" or "theropod cryptoterrestrials") could exist. The study also explores the possibility of aliens arriving from another planet or time period ("extraterrestrial" or "extratemporal cryptoterrestrials"). These aliens might have chosen to stay on Earth, potentially even evolving into new forms. Finally, the researchers consider the far-fetched idea of "magical cryptoterrestrials," perhaps beings like fairies that originated outside of our world.
The researchers acknowledge that their ideas might be met with skepticism from the scientific community. They urge other scientists to approach their work with an open mind, even though the paper has not yet undergone the standard peer-review process. This study adds to the ongoing debate about extraterrestrial life and the possibility of hidden intelligences on Earth.
