Divya Khosla and Karan Johar Clash Over 'Jigra' Box Office Claims

A war of words has erupted between actress-producer Divya Khosla Kumar and filmmaker Karan Johar over the recently released film Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt. The controversy began when Divya accused Alia and the film's producers of inflating box office numbers. She posted a picture of an empty cinema hall on social media, claiming that despite empty theaters, Jigra had announced strong ticket sales. Divya's post sparked heated discussions in Bollywood, with many taking sides in the debate.

In an interview, Divya criticized Karan Johar's response to her claims, calling his remarks "indecent" and inappropriate, especially towards a woman. She said, "I don't need PR like Karan. People know me well enough." The online spat continued when Karan indirectly responded to Divya by posting on his Instagram story, "The best answer to idiots is silence." Divya didn't back down and hit back with more sharp comments. She wrote, "Truth always falls on fools" and accused Karan of taking away the rights of others without any real strength.

Jigra, directed by Bhasan Bala, opened to mixed reviews. While some praised Alia Bhatt's performance, others criticized the screenplay. The film, which also stars Bedang Raina and Manoj Pahwa, has sparked significant debate, but the box office controversy has taken center stage, dividing fans and industry insiders alike.
